Nike air Jordans
If you are a collector of Air Jordans, then you should know that they are affectionately known as just AJ or Jordans. Of course, Air Jordan is a brand of Nike shoes that is named after the basketball legend Michael Jordan.

Controversial Air Jordan I
The Air Jordans design was proudly done by Peter Moore, but the total look of the original Air Jordan Nike shoes was actually not liked by many. The initial sightings of the first Nike Air Jordan shoes with its black and red design happened on November 17th 1984 in an NBA game between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Chicago Bulls.
The shoes got so much attention and public interest when the National Basketball Association decided to have it banned from the hard court, saying that that the red and black color of the shoes violated the shoe design rules of the NBA. Even Michael Jordan did not like the original Jordan, and was quoted to have described it as a "devil's shoes".
Still, this did not any anyway deter the enthusiasm of many other shoe manufacturers into mimicking the Air Jordan and emulating its design.
Air Jordan's 22 models
Do you know that Air Jordan has up to 22 versions or models, each released every year? But not all of these Air Jordan models got to be worn by Michael Jordan in a professional game in the NBA. The XVIII Model was the last Nike Air Jordan shoe that Michael Jordan ever used in a professional game.
Retro Air Jordans
Retros of various Air Jordan models had mixed results in terms of sale. The white, black and red as well as the black and red colorways were re-released in 1994, but then they did poorly. While in 2001 the Air Jordon I was re-released and was a huge hit. Taking from this success, New Retros of Nike Air Jordan I will again be released, which will include a retro of the rare white and black-red colorway.
